The gas flow realized per foot of exposed screen can vary due to many conditions, such as gas production rates in the fill and the permeability of the fill surrounding the screen. Also, gas flow rates per foot of exposed screen are likely to be higher for the first few feet of exposed screen and lower, on a per-foot basis, as more screen is exposed. Many practitioners report a common estimating basis of 0.3 to 1.0 SFCM per foot of exposed screen.
