Are there any concerns with air quality at the air discharge point?

In most applications we have seen to date, air permits have not been required due to the low total mass of VOC in the effluent air. For example, a 1 MGD air stripper designed to treat water with 50 ppb of TCE to below MCL in the effluent water will discharge about 0.42 lbs/day of TCE (0.2198 ppmV), which is a very small amount. Where air permits are required, typical VOC emission limits are in the range of 10-20 pounds per day.

The QED Online Modeler tool reports air discharge data for all target contaminants in both concentration (ppmV) and mass (pounds per day). This information can be used to help determine if any air permitting would be required for your application based on state or local air quality regulations.
