I work next to an air stripper system that has an odor when it discharges.
Smell sensitivity to specific organics will vary, so it is difficult to say if this is a target VOC you are smelling or some other source of odor. Air exiting a stripper is saturated with water vapor at the temperature of the treated water, so a humid smell is often present. Also, there may be compounds in the water that are not the target contaminants for removal but could contribute to odor in the effluent air, such as hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which has a “rotten egg” odor.
