What are the typical problems encountered with the system O&M for sliding tray strippers?

Tray fouling is the most common. This is mostly due to inorganic metal oxides in the water that form scale or iron deposits during stripping. Typical methods of tray cleaning are pressure washing and soaking trays in dilute acid. Depending on the frequency of tray cleaning, access door gaskets and felt tray seals may need to be periodically replaced. The cost is low for these parts and the change out procedure is straight forward and easily done on site by treatment plant personnel or maintenance contractors.
