Attached is a short white paper I prepared on options for sampling from very low-yield wells, where pumping rates less than 100 mL/minute aren't sufficient to allow the water level to stabilize readily during purging. The paper also references published reports on the topic. In general, the better option for these applications is to sample the water in the well rather than dewatering the well and allowing for slow recovery, which greatly affects the sample chemistry.
