What is the sample protocol for portable low-flow systems?

The only difference in the protocol for portable pumps, and dedicated pumps is that with portable pumps make sure that the pump is lowered slowly and carefully into the screen zone and do not let it get all the way to the bottom of the well. From there, everything else is the same: pump until the water level is stabilized, then sample when indicator parameters are stabilized. A good paper about this was published in 1995 by Puls and Powell from US EPA, it states: initial turbidity levels can be higher with portable pumps, these levels generally come down, but possibly not down as low as with dedicated pumps. Also, because of the initial mixing that occurs from installing the pump, the purge volume and purge time required may be longer than with a dedicated system.  But the sample protocol is exactly the same.
