Why does low-flow stabilization occurs for some parameters within 15 minutes but take other as long as 45 minutes to stabilize?
Electrical connectivity and dissolved oxygen take the longest to stabilize. But parameter such as pH will stabilize quite readily and so can turbidity depending on the flow rate, how the well is developed, and so forth. But, it’s not uncommon to see parameters such as pH stabilize quickly but then be a false indication of stabilization because dissolved oxygen has yet to reach the ambient level in the groundwater.
